If you fancy a more sophisticated start to your trip from Gatwick Airport, then breakfast at Caviar House & Prunier is the place bag your breakfast. How about Scrambled Egg, Balik Smoked Salmon & Caviar for £36, or if you’re looking for something a little lighter, then scrambled egg and Scottish smoked salmon comes in at £14.50. There are plenty of other options involving bagels, caviar, salmon and eggs to keep you and your jet-setter pals fed and watered.

Full English option: No. You’ll need to look elsewhere for the traditional English cooked breakfast.

Giraffe World Kitchen

A wide-ranging breakfast selection is on offer at Giraffe World Kitchen, with everything from a breakfast plate special with smoky bacon, sausage, eggs, beans and homefries for £10.95, to a Brekkie quesadilla packed with scrambled, egg, smoked Cheddar cheese and chorizo, topped with chipotle tomato salsa, pink pickled onions, chilli and sour cream for |£8.95. Traditional or more exotic breakfast tastes catered for here.

Full English option: Yes, the breakfast plate special for £10.95 should keep full-English fans happy.

Fill up on a full English for £14.30, you'll get free-range eggs (cooked to order) with Cumberland sausages, smoked back bacon, slow-roasted tomatoes, mushrooms and baked beans, or why not try the vegetarian equivalent for £12.75. There’s also a huge selection of egg-based brekkies for those who want something a little different – ranging from egg Benedict for £12.25 to a lighter bite of eggs Royale for £12.50.

Full English option: Yes, with both traditional and vegetarian options available. A huge range of breakfast dishes should cater for most passengers ahead of their flight from Gatwick.

Juniper & Co

Feeling like something a little more exotic to get you in step with your holiday? Juniper & Co could be the perfect pit-stop for your getaway brekkie at Gatwick Airport. From its Mediterranean breakfast of pea and mint falafel, feta cheese, humous, smashed avocado, coriander, toasted seeds, rocket, cured tomatoes and warm Khobez bread for £14.50, to a smoked bacon brioche for £8.00, with its smoked streaky bacon with Juniper house breakfast sauce, served in a buttered brioche bun.

Full English option: Yes. The Juniper & Co take on the cooked classic is made up of two Cumberland sausages, two smoked rashers of streaky bacon, scrambled free range eggs, hand-cut potato wedges, signature breakfast beans, cured tomatoes and seeded sourdough all for £17.00.

Why not kick-off your journey with a Nando’s veggie breakfast for £12.95? Tuck into halloumi slices grilled in your chosen spice, scrambled, fried or poached eggs, Portobello mushroom, ¼ avocado, Heinz beans, grilled tomato and hash browns, sprinkled with peri-salt and fresh chives. Served with a slice of toast and butter on the side. Or if you’re thinking about something a little more meaty, then Nando’s chicken Benedict at £12.95 - with juicy chicken breast pieces grilled in your chosen spice, two poached eggs and wilted spinach, topped with peri-hollandaise. Served on a bolo do caco roll with sweet chilli jam, a sprinkle of PERi-salt and fresh chives - could be the perfect breakfast choice for you. Full English option: Travellers will be able to enjoy the outlet’s take on the full English with the Nando’s Breakfast £12.95. There’s more than burgers at Shake Shack, with a large selection breakfast rolls on the table from 6am. From bacon, egg and cheese from £5.75 to sausage, bacon, egg and cheese from £6.85 - depending on how many eggs you choose - there are plenty of budget options for those looking to cut costs in the terminal.

Full English option: Not in the traditional plated form, but you can pick from the options listed above for a light meal with the essential breakfast elements included.

Sonoma

The restaurant says it’s inspired by the Californian way of eating with easy going breakfasts with healthy foods. And you can kick-off your trip with a wide selection of meat, eggs and vegetable-based options to keep you fuelled for the journey ahead. Try the Morning breakfast plate for £11.95, with fried or scrambled eggs, slow roasted tomato, hash potatoes, back bacon, Cumberland sausage, and Heinz baked beans, or take the veggie route with eggs, avocado smash, mixed mushrooms, herb roasted plum tomato, hash potatoes, Heinz baked beans and sourdough toast for £15.00.

Full English option: The £16.20 Sonoma country breakfast shout satisfy here, fried or scrambled eggs, slow roasted tomato, mixed mushrooms, hash potatoes, back bacon, morning Cumberland, sausages, baked beans and sourdough toast heading for the table.

The Flying Horse, Wetherspoon

There’ll many travellers hot-footing towards this high street favourite, so make sure you turn up early if you want to find a spot during peak times. But those who do get bums on seats will be rewarded with a huge selection of breakfast options from the traditional breakfast of varying sizes – from £8.50 to £12.99 – to vegetarian and egg-based alternatives to please tastes and appetites. Full English option: Certainly is! All you’ll need to do is decide whether you want the small, traditional, or large version of the much-loved breakfast – with staples of egg, sausage, bacon, beans, hash browns and mushroom all making an appearance.

The Nicholas Culpeper Pub & Dining

If you are picking someone up from an early flight, the Nicholas Culpeper offers a great opportunity to grab a filling breakfast in the landside are of the South Terminal. With traditional-style breakfasts starting at £11.50, it’s certainly on the right side of reasonable for within the terminal confines. If you’re looking for something different, there’s a good selection of egg-based and vegetarian options to consider.

Full English option: Yes. The Big One is billed as the pub’s classic full English, and is served with two Cumberland sausages, back bacon rashers, your choice of fried, poached or scrambled eggs, bubble & squeak, baked beans, buttered bloomer toast and cubed potatoes – at a price of £13.95. It also offers a standard full English for £11.50 comprising Cumberland sausage, back bacon, your choice of fried, poached or scrambled egg, bubble & squeak & baked beans served with a slice of buttered bloomer toast.

The Beehive, Wetherspoon

Tortilla

If you’re looking for an alternative to the traditional Brit brekkie, then Tortilla could be the breakfast destination for you. Fill up on the breakfast burrito, with prices starting at £6.00 and stuffed with free range egg, black beans, potatoes and fresh tomato with chorizo or mushroom.

Full English option: No, but you could give a nod to the full English with the £4.95 breakfast roll, filled with free range egg, smashed avocado and house ketchup with bacon or mushroom.

Vagabond Bar & Kitchen

New addition to the Gatwick breakfast collective, Vagabond Bar & Kitchen offers a wide range of breakfast options likely to cater for most tastes. From a vegan fry-up for £13.50 to a classic English of eggs, sausage, streaky bacon, tomatoes, backed beans, grilled mushrooms and sourdough also at £13.50 there are plenty more options inbetween. Warrens Bakery

Terminal: North

If you’re running late for your flight, Warrens Bakery has a decent selection of breakfast boxes and rolls to keep you going as you rush to the gate. And with prices ranging from £4.99 veggie, sausage or bacon rolls, up to £5.99 for the full breakfast version, you won’t be breaking the bank before you’ve even taken off.

Full English option: Not as such, but there is the Full English Breakfast box (alongside a veggie version) for £5.99 or the Full English Breakfast roll at £5.99.

Wondertree

Terminal: South

You can choose English, Mexican, Moroccan or anything from a huge selection of international or domestic options for your pre-flight pit-stop when visiting Wondertree in the South Terminal. Just be sure to check out the menu before you arrive or you could still be deciding as your flight’s called. 

Full English option: Big and Little versions of the English breakfast are on offer. The ‘Little’ serves up Bacon, pork & herb sausage, free range egg and beans for £8.75, with the ‘Big’ delivers Two rashers of bacon, two pork & herb sausages, free range eggs, Heinz baked beans and grilled tomato for £11.25.
